Tooth Colored Fillings
The verdict is still out as whether silver (amalgam) fillings are hazardous to your health.
We do know that over the long term they are bad for your teeth!
Old, large silver fillings are mostly responsible for the damage to teeth we day to day.
These "metal" fillings expand and contract with heat and cold leaving a rigid tooth with nowhere to move so the tooth ends up with cracks.
These can be symptomatic or not, large or small.
At Gentling Dental Group, we would never want to do anything that would ultimately harm your oral health, and decided we would only use the new bonded composite material.
These materials "glue" the tooth together resulting in a much stronger filling.
These fillings are also much less susceptible to fracture unlike the wedge action of the old silver fillings. One last benefit is they look great.
It's hard to tell which tooth has had a filling when Dr. Gentling is finished. So smile, the rest of the world can't see your fillings!
Dr. Gentling uses only composite filings and once restored your tooth will look 100% natural, unlike the older style silver fillings.
Composite fillings match the particular color of your teeth and are bonded (glued) to the tooth thus strengthening the tooth.
